What your Christmas wrapping says about you!

Christmas wrapping: for some people it's an opportunity to make a work of art, for others it's a boring waste of time. Here's a chance to find out what your wrapping paper really says about you!

The wrapping: none

You: lazy

You give out your gifts in the plastic bags they came in: it doesn't get much lazier than that. And no, hiding your unwrapped presents behind your back and shouting "Ta dah!" does not make the situation any better. Come on, it's Christmas, put in a bit of effort!

The wrapping: brown paper

You: skinflint

Your wrapping of choice is plain brown paper with parcel string. For some, this is a style choice, beautifully dressed up with pretty string and stencilled-on snowflakes. But if you're using brown paper (or worse, newspaper!) because it's all you've got lying around, you're doing it wrong. Gifts are meant to look cheery, not like they've been lost in the post for thirty years.

The wrapping: messy

You: excitable

Your presents are gift-wrapping abominations and they end up so covered with sellotape that you need a pair of scissors to break into them. We get it, wrapping gifts is hard and Christmas is exciting, but you might want take a minute to calm down. Trust us, you'll wrap much better when your hands aren't shaking.

The wrapping: boxes

You: mysterious

You love putting your gifts in neatly wrapped boxes to create an air of mystery around Christmas. That's very admirable, but you're taking away half the pre-Christmas fun: everybody likes to squish their presents and try to guess what's inside!

The wrapping: festive paper

You: child at heart

Your Christmas gifts are wrapped in every type of paper you could find, from dancing penguins to cheesy smiling Santas. And why not? Everyone loves a bit of kitsch. Christmas is likely your favourite holiday of the year and you're secretly wishing for some toys and sweets from Santa!

The wrapping: elaborate

You: show-off

Your presents put everyone else's gifts to shame, with their perfectly colour-coordinated paper and extravagant bows. They may look wonderful, but remember that the point of the present is what's inside, so make sure the gift lives up to the grand statement made by your wrapping!

The wrapping: pretty but understated

You: artistic

You've struck the perfect balance: the gift is neatly wrapped with stylish paper and finished off with a pretty ribbon and a handmade gift tag. Congratulations, you are a wrapping paper artist! If they gave out prizes for presents, you'd get the gold.
