7th July 2011admin Share:FacebookTwitterShare

You only have to look at our range of delightful  Cups and Saucers, Cake Stands and Teapots to realise that here at DotComGiftShop - we are seriously into tea.

So much so in fact that we’ve done a little bit of research to bring you our top ten teashop blogs. So put the kettle on, crack open the biscuit barrel and read on.

The tea appreciation society

http://www.lovetea.co.uk/

Complete with its own tea drinkers manifesto, the tea appreciation society boasts its own manifesto. Co-founders Stephen Nelson and Shayne House say of the society that it ‘satisfies our desires to do some good both ethically and environmentally, allowing us to champion philanthropic attitudes to business, and work with various charities’.  Well you can’t say fairer than that - well worth a look.

Joe Ellis’ tea room guide

http://www.tea-room-guide.org.uk/

No tea inspired post would be complete without giving this inspired blog a mention.  An extraordinary resource for tea lovers everywhere, Joe Ellis is a self confessed tea fiend whose ‘non-commercial and independent English tearoom guide’ does much to support and safeguard this most treasured of English institutions.  Joe - we salute you!

Cavens Blog

http://cavens.com/blog/

Staying in Scotland for a moment - blog author Angus Fordyce who runs Cavens Hotel on the Solway Coast in Galloway is clearly a wildlife enthusiast - and who can blame him?  Cavens is set in beautiful surroundings and is a must for the tea drinking ornithologist.  With plenty of pointers about things to do an see in the area, this is a good read.

Rosie Lovell

http://rosiesdelicafe.blogspot.com/

OK so it’s not strictly speaking a teashop - but we thought it was too good to miss out.  London Deli Cafe owner Rosie says  “I run Rosie's Deli Cafe and wrote 'Spooning with Rosie'. Here's some of my ramblings, recipes and restaurant favourites. It's nothing serious. xx”  We beg to differ - this is a ‘seriously’ good blog, with some interesting an informative articles and food suggestions to get your creative juices flowing.

Tea and cake

http://www.teaandcake.co.uk/brewed-by-contact-tea-and-cake.html

A ‘Quali - tea’ site, Janine (tea) and Sam (baking) had the idea for this blog after drawing naked men at a life drawing class - apparently all they could think of was tea pots.  From an ex - Royal Marines rules for brewing the finest pot of tea to a tongue in cheek look at the art of reading tea leaves, this is a quirky website that’s full of fun and well worth ‘pouring’ over while you’re enjoying a nice cuppa.

The tea drinking English rose

http://theteadrinkingenglishrose.blogspot.com/

This English rose  is a young woman with a taste for the comfort of a cup of tea.  She’s creative, thoughtful and stepping out into the world. This blog has a dreamlike quality and the pictures of her mum’s new chicks are as cute as can be!

Bakelady’s Blog

http://bakelady.wordpress.com/

Now here’s an interesting blog.  Ever heard of an ‘Underground teashop’? Well this one is based in the Leeds area of West Yorkshire and the host is a keen home baker who  - occasionally turns her home into The Secret Tea Room. Why?  Well in the lady’s own words, ‘this gives me a chance to bake and be Hostess for the day and chat to some lovely people’.

Clandestine Cake Club

http://clandestinecakeclub.co.uk/

CCC members bake to an agreed theme then meet to feast on their creations. ‘That’s an interesting concept and all very well’, we hear you cry, ‘but what’s that got to do with tea?’ Well whoever heard of anyone feasting on cake without a nice cup of tea to wash it all down with? That’s just not the DotComGiftShop way.
