Even though they are labelled as "dishwasher safe", don't expect them to last more than a few months if you do this. Very quickly the colour faded and one has cracked after 6 months. They are very pretty when new, though.

Melamine is extremely durable plastic,but like all plastic when exposed to high heat such as dishwasher drying cycles, may deteriorate.

another purchase for my 91 year old grandma who loves red/white spot things , she doesn't think of them as retro shes just glad she can still get things with that on. got her several bits with this on as she has been breaking bits of crockery so this is ideal for her and she loves it.
